Private Lessons

IF Flame Drop Throwing vsomething.png

Some students work best in a private setting with a dedicated instructor.  Private lessons are an opportunity to ask all your burning pottery questions and receive individualized instruction.

How do Private Lessons work? What can I expect? Our Early Bird and Traditional lessons are two hours long. Your instructor will greet you when you arrive at the studio, and give you a throwing demonstration. You may make as many pieces as you like within the lesson, and at the end you choose 3 pieces per person to keep. You may choose a glaze for your pieces (all three will be glazed in the same color). Your pieces will be trimmed and glazed by Indigo Fire staff - it takes one month to complete. Guests may pick up their finished pottery one month from the date of the lesson. Indigo Fire stores pottery for three months from the date of the lesson. After three months, your pottery may be removed from the studio! Participants must be 10+ years old. We use our studio reclaim stoneware for private lessons which is a nice, plastic clay body that fires to a light brown color and has some speckles. If you’re interested in booking a lesson for more than 3 participants check out our private events page!

Cancellation Policy:

Up to two days before the lesson, we offer a complimentary reschedule and a 90% refund. Additional reschedule requests incur a 10% reschedule fee. The day prior to the lesson, reschedule requests incur a 30% fee, and a 50% refund is available.  Requests to cancel or reschedule after 6 PM the day prior to the workshop are considered no-shows.

Notice of cancellation or rescheduling must be given in writing.  This policy does not change for unexpected life events, obligations or illness. We do not refund or reschedule for no shows. Lessons are not extended for late arrivals.
