Classes are long term(8 weeks generally) and meet once a week for two hours. Teaching is focused on the wheel and students get ample access outside of class to practice. Classes are suited to those committed to learning pottery.
We usually offer morning classes from 10:30-12:30pm and night classes from 6:30-8:30pm. Our night classes are popular and tend to fill quickly. We communicate all registration matters through our newsletter.
Workshops are 2 hour, one-time events that run every weekend. They are designed for first-time potters, although students with experience are welcome. If you're curious about the pottery wheel, these classes are for you. Participants may keep up to two pots that get picked up three weeks after the event.
Bring some beer or wine to a Sip and Spin, or join a Morning Wheel class with the family.
Our Independent Study program gives students access to our clays, glazes, firings and facility. Participants get a private shelf to store their work on. Independent Study students must have enough prior pottery experience to be self sufficient in our studio.
There is currently a waiting list for Independent Study. To be added to this list, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
2 hours of dedicated instruction from one of our private lesson teachers. Groups of up to 4 people may register for private lessons. Participants make as many pots as they want, and then choose up to three that the studio trims and glazes. These pots may be picked up three weeks later, like the workshops. These must be booked in advance on our private lesson page.
Each summer in July and August we run a kids clay program for children ages 10-14. The program is offered on a weekly basis and runs from 9am-3pm. The kids get an immersive week in handbuilding and the pottery wheel. It's a fantastic way to introduce kids to the language of clay at an early age. Their pottery gets glazed on Friday and can be picked up a few weeks later after it's been fired.
