Hello Everyone! The new Karax Blonde tiles are up at Watertown. The reason they've been replaced is to reflect the new viscosity of the glaze. The recipe is the same, and the differences are small, but there! I'm including a photo of the lone Karax tiles to help some of y'all understand why we made the change. The top tile is the new one. You can see it's slightly warmer, has a little been more color variation, and is actually showcasing the differences you can get on different clay bodies. The original was just too overpowering and solid for the desired intention, and looked the same across all clays (save for the breaking over edges). If you'd still like to use Karax as an opaque creamy glaze, I'd recommend at least two long dips (6-8 seconds each). I hope you guys continue to show this glaze some love. Functionally speaking, it's better than it ever was, and it's doing some beautiful stuff on the new tiles. If there's any questions about it, please don't hesitate to shoot me a message or write a comment below.

I love the new version
Also, for total clarification: the top tile is showing 2 full karax dips. I’m making another that will show you both a single and double dip, and that will be up on the wall in the next day or so!
Really like this version, and excited to try it out in the new year!
Karax has been a favorite and has proven itself interesting as a combo glaze (for me, at least). The new tile looks like an improvement in its character. I have a piece waiting for it… if I can only get over this cold or whatever it is.
