Private Events

Gather up your friends or colleagues and get into some clay!

Our private pottery events are the perfect mix of hands-on learning and laid-back fun.  Whether you’re getting muddy with wheel throwing or crafting a unique project by hand, our expert instructors will guide you through the process—no prior clay experience needed.

Great for friend groups looking for a weekend adventure or corporate teams wanting a midweek break from the office. â€‹ All private events run for a total of two and a half hours, which includes an orientation to the studio, demonstration (either on the wheel or at the handbuilding table) and a 20-30 minute cleanup period.

All clay and glaze materials are included as well as firing services. Participants will choose a glaze for their pieces at the end of the event, after which we trim, label, bisque fire, glaze, and group together all the pieces for pickup. This process takes about a month. The completed pieces are food and dishwasher safe - yahoo!

Pottery Wheel

We are able to host up to 22 participants for a wheel-throwing event. Each 2.5 hr event includes an introductory demonstration and a mid-class demo.

Each person can throw as much as they want, and at the end selects two pieces to be trimmed and glazed in the color of their choice (take a look below to see our glaze options!). The last half hour of class is reserved for cleanup.

Handbuilding

This style of event is held at our handbuilding tables, where we can host up to 12 participants. You will select a project in advance of the event, and we prep the right materials & tools for you. Your teacher will guide your group through the making process, step by step. Sample handbuilding projects are included below- butter dishes, textured mugs, and photo frames are among our selected projects!

Our private events are an introductory experience to pottery!

You can expect to get messy and learn some pottery techniques.  Clay has a way of humbling us all, so be ready for a challenge 🙂

Pots and Pick Up After Class

Participants may keep up to two pots each. Indigo Fire takes one month to trim, fire, apply a glaze (of your choice), and fire the pottery again before pickup. We will email the event coordinator when the pots are ready for pickup!
